The Sarah and Matthew Eisele Show

It was the “Sarah and Mathew show” last week for the top 10 winners of the Facebook contest. They are the second sibling team winners we’ve had so far. They were shy at first, but as the session went on, their little personalities started to shine. I really like some of the images that I captured when they weren’t expecting me to snap the picture. Some fun and genuine smiles that made their parents and I very happy. Enjoy!

Cornerstone Photography is looking for upcoming Seniors of the class of 2012 to be models/ambassadors for our studio! This is a great opportunity to be a representative of the number one studio in Ventura county.

Models will have incredible studio and location images to show off to their friends and family. These positions will also put you in the running for a great part time job as a photographers assistant!

Community Partner Award

The Moorpark Unified School District Board of Education honored Cornerstone Photography’s own Peter Lars Nicholson with the Community Partner award, during a board meeting on Tuesday night. Others were also recognized for their numerous contributions and volunteer hours they put in on a daily basis. A special thank goes to Mountain Meadows’s Principal Christine Kelley for hosting the event. Congratulations to everyone.

I had the pleasure of capturing the nuptials of one of my favorite office manager's children over the weekend. Beate, of Wildwood Elementary, watched her son Phillip tie the knot to her now wonderful daughter in-law Andrea on 1/1/11. The ceremony and reception took place on the water, but lucky for all of us it was indoors, away from the cool weather that SoCal has been experiencing.

Brian (best assistant I know)and I had a wonderful time capturing their special day. Philip’s coastguard uniform made the day special to photograph and Andrea was simply beautiful.

We can't believe it's December already and Cornerstone is in full swing with the Holidays. It was another successful evening at the Willow Elementary Family Fundraiser where lots of great family photos were taken....just in time for the holidays, too! A great big thank you goes to our wonderful coordinator Andrea Friedland. We got a lot of fantastic photos and don't forget, we get all family members, including the cute furry ones! Sound of Conejo

On Saturday the 9th Thousand Oaks High School hosted the Sound of Conejo, which showcased six spectacular marching bands from Ventura County. Each band entertained the crowd with a unique seven minute performance leading up to a grand finale featuring all six bands playing together in tribute to America. Congradualtions to Thousand Oaks for puting on an incredible show!

Cornerstone's 2010 Fall Family Fundraising kicked off at Lang Ranch Elementary. We want to thank our fantastic coordinators, Jill and Wendy, for making our new program work so smoothly. With our whole new look, each family had fun experiencing 3 different "stations" with three different photographers. Everyone loved the new contemporary backdrops.

We also loved to see Lang Ranch's awesome office manager Pam Kilgore in the fundraiser with her entire family, including her toddler grand daughter. It was such a joy to see that great big smile on her face!

Wow! What a fun session! Long time clients of Cornerstone, it was my pleasure to get the opportunity to photograph Sook and her daughters Kayla and Chelsea. Peighton's 1 year old portrait session was a blast! Thank you to my Round Meadow Elementary pals for coming out to the studio for this opportunity and assisting in creating these memorable images. I don’t think we could have done it without you Jo. Peighton just loves smiling at you for some reason. I wonder why????

Seeing Peighton's expression when she had her first taste of birthday cake was priceless. She was so cute! . I hope we didn’t start a sweet tooth trend!!

Congratulations to newlyweds Peri and Ben Hauser for tying the knot on Sunday under a gorgeous beach sunset at the Rincon Beach Club near Santa Barbara. With dinner being served in cocktail-hour fashion, guest were given the opportunity to mingle amongst themselves while they weren't busy bustin' a move to some tunes on the dance floor. From start to finish it was truly a pleasure to photograph such a wonderful couple on their special day!

The long awaited day has finally arrived!!

Peter and his wife Kaye welcomed a baby boy in the early morning of June 15^th.

Mason Magnus Nicholson was born at 3:42am. Weighing in at 8lbs, 11oz and over 20 inches long, he made his long awaited arrival.

Even though this writer may be slightly biased, I do believe that this might be one of the most gorgeous babies ever born! Based on these pictures, I’m sure that you will agree with me.

My heartfelt congratulations go out to both Kaye and Peter. Enjoy this incredible journey as new parents.

A Baby?

Well, the old saying of "A picture is worth a 1000 words" is the best way to describe our latest news. Someone at Cornerstone is having a baby! Who's your guess?

At the ripe "young" age of 43, our owner Peter Lars is finally having a baby! Well, he isn't, but his wife is. Peter and his wife Kaye are expecting their first baby in mid-June. Peter sprung the news to the Cornerstone staff that there would be one more employee joining the ever growing family in 2009. We are all extremely excited about the news and looking forward to the new addition. I'd like to know when he or she can start working.

So, all you office managers who ask him constantly when a baby was coming into the picture (no pun intended) you got your answer. Should we start a pool as to whether he will be having a boy or a girl? My guess is a girl! I'm sure Peter will enjoy telling you in person, but I couldn't help but spread the good news. I know that we all wish him and Kaye all the best in their new adventure as Mom and Dad. You think you work hard now Peter, just wait!

Welcome to Cornerstone Photography's first official blog. We plan to update our blog every week with client highlights, featured portraits and other fun news that happen at the Cornerstone studio. We welcome your comments and suggestions.

The holidays are rapidly approaching and our staff is working overtime getting portraits and holiday cards out on time. We did take a few m

inutes out of the day to take our annual holiday portrait. Our school manager, Megan, came up with this fun theme; "Cornerstone Delivers" and what a better way to express that then by dressing as pizza delivery guys. As usual, our holiday portraits generate a lot of laughs both for us and hopefully for you. Who will come up with the winning idea for next year's theme?

Our holiday basket production is in full swing and will be delivered to all of our school clients this week. A lot of you have asked where we get all of our great treats. We discovered Somis Nut House about 7 years ago and haven't changed our formula since! The old adage of "Don't fix something if it isn't broken" definitely is the case here! If you are looking for a wonderful alternative to gift baskets, we highly recommend that you check them out. They are located at: 4475 Los Angeles Ave. Somis, CA 93066

Our staff has a lot of fun creating these baskets and we hope that you and your staff enjoy them.
